Canada Post Strike - We're Still Shipping
In light of the recent notice of a potential Canada Post strike coming as early as Friday, November 15th, 2024, I wanted to provide an update on our shipping services, how we ship, and reassure you that we WILL get your packages to you in a timely manner during this time.
First of all, we have removed all Canada Post shipping options from our shop for the time being. Until we have more information about whether a strike is going to occur, or how it will be implemented (sometimes they do a "rolling" strike and packages continue to move but are simply delayed), we are going to leave it like this.
Services Available
During checkout, you will see a slew of options available - none of which use Canada Post in any way, shape or form. All of them are the lowest-cost options our partner couriers provide. They are all available at all times, and many of you have used these options in the past. They include services such as GLS, Canpar, Purolator, UPS, Fedex, ICS Courier, Intelcom, and many others you may already be familiar with. All are excellent services and offer insurance to ensure your packages arrive safely to you.
Lettermail Option
We are typically able to offer low-cost Lettermail for smaller items such as single, thin knitting needles or cables. During this time, this option will not be available, unless you are open to waiting an indeterminate amount of time for the strike to be over.
P.O. Boxes
If you have a PO Box, please either provide an alternate, physical address where we can send a courier package to, or avoid ordering until the strike is over.
Thanks for reading, and I hope this has served to reassure you about our ability to deliver your packages to you this holiday season!
